Cleaning the Fersina stream
Massimo Faletti began organizing meetings with Stefani, President of the Argentario district, the Argentario Ecomuseum, SAT Cognola and Povo, the Fire Department, and Hotel Villa Madruzzo with the idea of cleaning up the Fersina stream from trash.
In the spring of 2018, with 50 volunteers, using 400 m of rope (200 m fixed from the “Strada dei Crozi” on a rock overhang to a tree near the banks of the Fersina), they created an upper (montante) line. Another rope, used via pulley and an automobile which pulled additional pulleys, allowed the other 200 m of rope teams to remove debris. In a single day of work, they succeeded in removing 5,000 kg of waste.
Acknowledgements go not only to the aforementioned groups and entities, but also to the “Falchi di Povo” group and the Sunnyclimb Alpine Guides.RTTR TV report on our 'cleaning day' of the stream close to home https://www.youtube.com/embed/EyHnKo3CbqA
